CHIEF Mutema of Chipinge has emulated the empowerment of young women that was done by a non-profit making Christian organisation, Family AIDS Caring Trust (FACT) Zimbabwe.

FACT availed 33 start-up kits for the young women on May 22, 2023 during a market fair that was held at Gaza Stadium in Chipinge town where a total of 33 young women received start-up kits after completing courses in metalwork/welding, professional cookery, Tourism and hospitality, building, hairdressing and cosmetology, garment making. The courses were done under DREAMS SMART’s Siyakha model.

Speaking during the occasion, Chief Mutema said that the start-up kits translate to industry.

“I am happy that the young women have received these start-up kits. To me, this means the beginning of industry in the rural areas. Don’t go and sit on the kits but develop industry. You should bear fruits so that others can emulate what you have started,” he said.

The event was graced by government ministries and departments.
