THE second edition of Chimanimani Arts Festival’s Tamba Children Play Festival kicked on today a high note. The event took place at Chimanimani Arts Festival Trust (CAFT) Centre in Chimanimani Village.
Hoards of children participated in the show performing songs, poetry and dances. Infants were treated with a jumping castle and parachute game.

In his opening remarks, one of the organisers, music producer Mike Chimwero, popularly known as Super Mikela said that the event aims at offering psychosocial support to the children of Chimanimani.

“This junior session was introduced in 2019 after Chimanimani was hit by devastating Tropical Cyclone Idai. We saw the need to occupy children so that they don’t keep thinking about the horror of cyclone Idai.

“Every year, we aim at bringing this festival to the children so that they can become resilient,” he said.

Chimanimani FM’s star broadcaster, DJ Sweet P is the Master of Ceremony as the wheels are being spun by DJ Nick Manhando.
The festival shall end tomorrow (10 December).
