CHIMANIMANI Community Radio trading as Chimanimani FM is now on a marketing drive to attract sponsors from the immediate community as well as across the country.
This saw the radio station embark on a capacity building exercise for the radio volunteers. First was a two-day workshop that was facilitated by Business Wave Africa.com on 05 and 06 September 2022. The workshop sought to empower radio personn on news gathering.
The second workshop was facilitated by Business Wave Africa.com in collaboration with Lishire Investments on 13 and 14 October 2022. The workshop sought to achieve how radio personnel could market themselves as well as the radio station.
According to the radio station manager, Mr Themba Gata, the capacity building exercise is meant to empower the radio personnel so that it can help market the radio station.
“Empowering personnel is empowering the radio station, so the community. We work with volunteers, most of them who have a passion for radio but most of them had no prior media background. So we are empowering them to know professional concepts. That way, we expect to reach far with them.

“I would like to thank the facilitators, Steve Ephraem from Business Wave Africa and Witness Mutaniso from Lishire Investment for donating their expertise and time to the radio station. The personnel and community is benefiting from such a gesture. We hope that our radio station shall get sponsors in the near future,” he said.
