Chipinge musician to release album

CHIPINGE’S arts initiatives are growing from strength to strength as a lot of activities are taking place in the eastern town.

Latest on the log is Michael Mupande, a focused but humble singer.

The Chipinge based artiste is set to release an album this coming week which he believes shall put the eastern town on the arts map.

Speaking to Business Wave Africa Arts, the 45 year old Mupande said that the project is a social comment.

“This is my second album which I named Magaka Anovava. It follows my debut project named Tatakura kuipa which was released in 2003.

“I started music in1997 in Highfields, Harare. The new album which is produced by Norman Tapambwa has four songs titled Jona, Jesu wangu, Maria and Takamboimba,” he said.

Mupande revealed that his musical career was motivated by artistes such as Paul Matavire, Leonard Dembo, Leonard Zhakata and Charles Charamba.

Mupande dedicates the album to Chipinge. He is married and has 3 children.
