MANCHESTER City defender John Stones has warned his teammates that they cannot always rely on Erling Haaland after the Norwegian scored a hat-trick in their win over Wolverhampton Wanderers yesterday (22 January 2023).
Haaland’s treble on Sunday was his fourth of the campaign and condemned Wolves to defeat. A header in the 40th minute got the ball rolling for the 22-year-old.
He doubled his side’s lead from the penalty spot in the second period. The City talisman then notched his third following a Jose Sa mistake to seal the three points.

Speaking to Sky Sports post-match, Stones was quick to warn his teammates that they all need to be chipping in with goals. He said: “That’s his quality.
“I’m so pleased for him again. He just keeps coming up with the goals.
“We have had a lot of good goals from different players coming off the bench, starting the games. Riyad [Mahrez] the other night.
“I don’t want to just put it all on him. We all need to chip and we are doing but when he scores three in a game it’s difficult.”
