First Choice College opens doors to Nenohwe

NENOHWE community in Chimanimani located about 30km from Birchenough Bridge and 92km from Mutare has something to smile for. It is the opening of a new private learning institution named First Choice College.

According to one of the directors of the college, their institution is closing the gap for schools especially in rural areas.

“Our school is closing the gap for schools in rural areas. The country is in dire need for more schools so that children can acquire education at their door steps. We also wanted to address the issue of early marriages.

“Some girls did not like to walk these long distances and would resort to marriage than schooling. Our academy is now open, we encourage the young girls to enrol in school than opting for marriage,” he said.

First Class Academy has started enrolling students in sciences, arts and commercial subject. It gives student choice between taking Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (ZIMSEC) and Cambridge syllabi.
