JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES shall unite to celebrate the death of Jesus in the evening of Tuesday, April 04, 2023, an act which they observe globally every year.
The program that will last for one hour shall be held in all 118 000 congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 239 countries where the organisation is active. During the previous year, the Memorial was attended by nearly 20 million people globally.
The Memorial event is free to everyone and shall start and end with the singing of a song, as well as a prayer offered by a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses. The main feature of the Memorial is a talk about the importance of Jesus’ death and how people can benefit from what God and Christ have done for mankind.
According to Jehovah’s Witnesses official website, jw.org, the Memorial should not be confused with Easter.
“The Memorial is a celebration of Jesus’ death not his resurrection,” says the website. It adds that Jehovah’s Witnesses observe this Memorial each year on the anniversary of his death according to the Bible’s lunar calendar, a date which tallies with Nisan 14.
Those interested to attend can check with one of the local congregations in the area where they stay.
