MINISTER of State for Manicaland Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Nokuthula Matsikenyeri, has urged people to talk about drug abuse in the communities.
The minister said this in a speech read on her behalf by deputy director Mr Luckson Bhasopo during a National Fitness and Wellness Conference that was held yesterday (03 May) at Checheche in Chipinge South. The event ran under the theme: “Drug and substance abuse a threat to Vision 2030 – Every community is responsible.”
“It is our duty and responsibility to undertake this fight against those who deal in drugs. I encourage all of you, in your various sectors to pursue your commitment to increasing awareness and offering support to those who have emerged from the tunnel of drug addiction and other addictions,” she said.
The minister challenged the community to open dialogue about drugs and substance abuse than wait for wait for the Government to do it on its own.
