NEWLY promoted Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) Division 1 side, Rusitu Tigers FC, is set to play its first game this Sunday (09 April 2023) in the top division league.
Rusitu Tigers FC shall play at their home at Kopa (Rusitu) against Midway FC of Rusape.
Speaking to this publication, the club chairperson, Gladys Derera, urged Chimanimani and Chipinge people to rally behind their team.
“We are going to play against Midway FC this Sunday. We will be clad in our green-and-red colours as we aim for a win.
“We urge Chimanimani and Chipinge people to support their home team in our bid for bringing top flight soccer in in Chimanimani district. Entrance fee shall be US$1 per person and we strictly restrict alcohol in the ground,” she said.
Rusitu Tigers is the only team to hail from Chimanimani-Chipinge region in the ERSL Division 1. It rubs shoulders with Mutare based Tenax and the Rusape’s Midway FC as the three teams represent Manicaland in the league.
