AFRO Jazz sensation, Calvin Tuku Shaa Mtukudzi is expected to wow Chimanimani and Chipinge this festive season.
Tuku shall descend onto Chimanimani on Sunday 25 December 2022 where he shall be guest musician at a Christmas Family Show that is host by Chimanimani Arts Festival at Chimanimani Arts Festival Trust (CAFT) Centre in The Village, Chimanimani. The show shall start at 1000hrs.
The following day, Monday, 26 December, Tuku shall head for Chipinge where he will wow fans at Just One Bar in Usanga suburb. The Chipinge extravaganza shall start at 10pm and shall be combined with a Miss Chipinge Beauty Contest.
According to the decorated musician, the two shows bring a lot of excitement to him since they are his maiden performances in Manicaland.
I am really excited to perform in Manicaland for the first time. Its an honour for me to play before Chimanimani and Chipinge fans. I hope that it is a beginning of long and strong relationship with the eastern base, he said.
Calvin Mtukudzi is a son of the late Dr Oliver Mtukudzis younger brother, Phineas. The 36 year old singer plays an acoustic guitar and has a full band named Jazz Peace. In his Chipinge and Chimanimani shows, he shall be backed by Chimanimani Arts Festival Band.
Calvin Mtukudzi started music in 2013 and takes the trade as part time. He is formally employed in the banking sector in Marondera. He has four albums namely; Kukungura (2013), Manamatiro (2015), Tuku Shaa (2019) and Kupupura (2021).
